Kai Kaha Hockey has had a change at the healm and are looking for some new committee members to help with this season. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our clubs and we sure do appreciate people offering a hand to help clubs continue to provide their awesome sporting experiences for all members. If you can lend a hand with any of the roles below please get in touch with Jess.On Tuesday the Kia Kaha Hockey Club ran its annual general meeting - Thank you to those who attended.

Resignations and New elections were moved.

We say goodbye to Erin, our social media/grants member - thank you for all your work applying for grants, looking into fundraising opportunities, and making meetings. Every bit helps.

We also farewell our Secretary Laura. Laura has done allot for the club behind the scenes, including the organisation of successful fundraising events among many other unseen things. Thank you Laura.

And finally, we farewell Dave. Dave has been club president on and off for nearly a decade, returning in 2021 to step up and help the club. Dave has done a huge amount for the club - from finding and looking after sponsors, building community relationships, organizing fundraising opportunities, behind the scenes admin and attending those meetings no one really wants to go to. Dave also successfully ran another cancer awareness fundraiser this year- raising $4000 for Wairarapa Cancer Society. The club appreciates all you have done Dave and will be calling on you for your advice and knowledge as it rebuilds.

With resignations, came new appointments.
The club appoints Cam Linton as Secretary and myself - Jess Collins as President.

A bit about me.
I have played hockey since i was 5. 2023 was my second season playing for the Comvita Kiakaha Women's 1 side. Such a great team to be a part of.
I am looking forward to taking on this role, alongside my other commitments as a mum of two, teacher aide at Waicol, and a student myself studying psychology. in 2022 i resigned from my role with Hockey Wairarapa - i worked there as the development officer and rep coordinator for just over 4 years. I hope my strengths and enthusiasm for hockey will come into play as i learn the ropes of running a club.

Kia Kaha has the potential to grow and with this we need help. The club is looking for more members to join the committee - even in a small capacity, every bit helps. Below you can see we have many vacancies.
As well as members, the club is excited to be able to bring in some new and passionate sponsors - any sponsorship, even small, helps our club maintain its position as being one of development, fun, affordable, and sustainable. More people playing and enjoying hockey requires funds, our player subs do not cover our costs, let alone allow us to purchase the equipment needed to train and run fun events to ensure our current members want to stay, and new members keen to join and be a part of our unique club.

If anyone would like to contact me to chat about committee membership, or sponsorship opportunities - or anything at all. feel free to call or email me.

*** POSTPONED *** Sorry folks but we have made the hard decision to postpone our Country Fête until next Saturday, 7th Oct, when the weather looks much better. Same time, same place but fingers crossed there will be no rain, wind or cold temperatures! Hope to see you there to enjoy the day.
